Men’s Basketball Falls Short to Bobcats

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA - The Richard Bland College men's basketball team moves to 9-9 overall, 2-1 in conference play after traveling to Bryant & Stratton College (VA) Wednesday, evening. In their first meeting, the Bobcats outlasted the Statesmen 79-57.

 

Although the game was all tied up at 33 at the break yesterday evening, the Bobcats went on to outscore the Statesmen 42-28 in the second half to earn the 75-61 win.

 

Eric Wood led Richard Bland with 16 points, eight rebounds, two steals, one assist and one block. Kevon West had 11 points, four assists, three steals, and one rebound. Martin Kawa posted eight points, while Jordan Morris added seven and three boards. Kelby Saunders Jr. and Noryen Lasley matched at six points each.

 

The Statesmen went 50.0% from the charity stripe, 34.2% from the field and 27.3% from the perimeter.

 

The Richard Bland College men's basketball team next hosts conference opponent, Cape Fear Community College on Saturday, January 14th at 3pm.
