Apprentice School's Big Hits Pushed Past BSC 8-3
HAMPTON, VA – The Bobcats of BSC hit the road to War Memorial Stadium in Hampton, to face off against the Apprentice School, for the second time this year.
The Builder’s offense erupted early in the first, when Williams singled to shortstop to lead off. Brumfield moved Williams to third on a ground out to the third baseman. Third in the lineup, Hendrickson drove in Williams on a fly ball to center, scoring the first run of the game. Bottom of the first, a single by ConnerHanes and a stolen base attempt ended the inning for the Bobcats, unable to respond. The Apprentice School added three more runs in the second, putting them on top 4-0.
Josh Reilly, on the rubber for the Bobcats, allowed four runs on six hits and struck out one over four innings. Coach Lavell looked to the bullpen, entering Trent Kochheiser and Jackson Sanchez, for relief.
The Apprentice School continued to dominate offensively, putting up four more runs in the fifth inning. Flowers led the pitching efforts for the Builders, giving up only one run and striking out six, over five innings. Final score 8-3
Each with RBIs, Kelon Wesley and Conner Hanes hitting 2-5 and 3-4, respectively to lead the Bobcats offense. J DeFransico and Kevin Urena each credited with stolen bases.
The Bobcats return home this weekend, to host Catawba Valley CC Saturday, March 10th and Sunday, March 11th. Home games are played at Trant Field: 564 N Lynnhaven Road in Virginia Beach. Saturday game times at 1pm and 4pm. Sunday’s first pitch at noon.
