Big Hits Propel the Bobcats to Victory Over Stratford University 12-1
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – Bryant & Stratton College Baseball Team hosted the Cardinals of Stratford University today for the fourth time this season.
The Bobcat’s bats didn’t rest the entire game. Offensively, the Bobcats batted through the line-up, racking up fifteen hits on the day. Evan Antonellis led the Bobcats scoring early in the first, he singled to center field later scoring on a single by Chris Hanes. A triple shy of hitting for the cycle, Antonellis didn’t stop, he singled in the second, homered in the fourth, and hit a double in the fifth. Finishing 4-5 at the plate and totaling four RBIs against the Cardinals.
Chris Hanes, Trey Topping, and Kelon Wesley all had multiple hits in today’s match up. Behind Antonellis, Chris Hanes drove in three RBIs to seal the win for the Bobcats. Final score 12-1
Colton Hopkins struck out seven and allowed three hits in seven innings pitched, only giving up one run in twenty-six batters faced. G Wente and Jackson Sanchez came in for relief adding three strike outs and giving up one hit.
Stratford University collected four hits on the board. Third baseman, Carter went 2-4 at the plate. Smith, centerfielder for the Cardinals, drove in their sole run on a fly ball to left field scoring Carter.
The Bobcats hit the road to visit Paul D. Camp for a doubleheader Saturday March 3rd . Game Times 12pm and 3:30pm
