BSC Drops Home Opener Against Stratford 13-4
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – Bryant & Stratton College Men’s Baseball team drops their first game of the season today at their home opener against Stratford University.
The Bobcats struck first in the bottom of the third, with a two out walk from Wesley to set things up. Velasquez’s line drive shot to right field scored Wesley to put the Bobcats on top 1-0. That was all it took to wake up the Cardinals for their second match up the year. Top of the fourth, the Cardinals scored three runs on hits from Smith, Hernandez, and Garcia. Stratford kept the lead the rest of the game.
The Cardinals busted the game wide open in the top of the eight scoring eight more runs, led offensively by Smith, Garcia, Lowe, Coopenhaver, John and Carter. Stratford totaled eleven hits and four errors for the night.
Bryant & Stratton College Trey Toppin led in hits going 2-4 at the plate. Chris Guiles homered going 1-4 on the day, with 2 RBIs. Josh Reilly was on the mound allowing three hits, three runs and striking out three.
