Louisburg's Walk-off Homer in the Eleventh Seals the Win Over the Bobcats 7-6
LOUISBURG, NC – Bryant & Stratton College Baseball team were on the road today for a match up against the Hurricanes of Louisburg Community College.
The Bobcats started the runs early, scoring three in the top of the first. Kevin Urena helped set up the runs with a walk to start off the inning. Singles by Kelon Wesley and Trey Toppin put runners in scoring position to eventually drive Urena in to score. Brelin Carrol's fly ball to left field scores two RBIs for an early 3-0 lead. Bottom of one, the Hurricanes pick up a run on a line drive shot by Bailey. Score 3-1
Zacchaeus Rasberry's three run homer in the sixth, kept Louisburg alive in the sixth inning. Bryant & Stratton College and Louisburg battled going into the ninth inning tied up 6-6. Neal, up to the plate for the Hurricanes, hit a full count walk off homerun to left field to end the duel in the eleventh inning for a final score 7-6.
Chase Webb started the game for the Hurricanes. He allowed eight hits and five runs, striking out three and walking one for the night. Rasberry, Vinny Bailey, and Tucker Rodgers each had multiple hits to lead Louisburg to victory.
Shane Davis took the mound for BSC, striking out five, allowed two hits and one run over five innings. Wesley and Carrol both went 2-4. Toppin, Carrol, Velasquez and Hanes each with RBIs to put the Bobcats on the board.
The Bobcats travel to Lancaster, SC Saturday February 24th for a doubleheader against the Lancers of USC Lancaster. Game times are 12pm and 3pm.
