LANCASTER, SC – Bryant & Stratton College Baseball Team was back for day two for another double header against the Lancers of USC Lancaster.
BSC led off with big hits right out the gate, Kevin Urena and Evan Antonellis both singled to start the Bobcats off with runners in scoring position. Kelon Wesley drove in Kevin Urena to score early in the first inning 1-0. Firmstone, continued his series hitting streak, homers on a 1-0 count to tie the game 1-1, in the bottom of the second.
Needing the win, the Bobcats rallied in the top of the seventh when Urena hit a line drive single to left field. Evan Antonellis homered to left field scoring two runs to even it up 7-7 all. Home team advantage, the Lancer’s Knecce singled on a shot to center field and advanced on a bunt single from Coker. With runners on second and third, Firmstone flied out to center field allowing Knecce to tag up, scoring the winning run. Final 8-7
Seth Houston on the hill for the Bobcats, lasted four innings, giving up six hits and five runs while striking out four. Dillion Stimpson relieved Houston after four. Trey Toppin and Evan Antonellis both hit long balls. Evan Anotonellis leading the Bobcats offensively, going 3-4, driving in two RBIs. Brelin Carroll and Kevin Urena close behind hitting 3-4 and 3-5 respectively.
GAME TWO – Adrenaline pumping from the nail bitter in game one, the Bobcats offense tallied six runs after three innings. The offensive drive led by Evan Antonellis, Trey Toppin, and Kevin Urena, each with RBIs.
Finding their groove, Brett Cooksey, Chris Guiles, Evan Antonellis, and Trey Toppin all homered to contribute to the victory over USC Lancasters. Bryant & Stratton College put twelve hits on the board with eight total strike outs.
Knecce took the rubber for the Lancers, he allowed two hits and two runs in one inning. Muse, Parker, and Colten came in for relief in hopes to save the series sweep.
Taking the win, Shane Davis gave up three runs and three hits in seven innings pitched, striking out ten and walking zero. Final 11- 3
The Bobcats travel over the bridge to Newport News to face off against Stratford University, the fourth time this season, Tuesday February 27th at 4pm.
