Baseball Suffers First Loses of the Season Following a 1-2 Finish in the Weekend Series at Pitt CC

The Bryant & Stratton Bobcats Baseball team was on the road to take on conference foe in the Pitt Community College Bulldogs this passed weekend.

Game 1

The Bulldogs built their lead a few runs at a time in an 8-2 loss for the Bobcats.
The Bobcats got on the board in the first inning after #6 Joshua Lopez Torres singled, scoring 1 run.
#4 Diego Melendez and #6 Lopez Torres were a force together in the lineup as they each collected 2 hits. #6 Lopez Torres drove the middle of the lineup leading the team with 2 RBIs finishing 2-3 on the day. The Bobcats amassed 8 walks in the game, #6 Lopez Torres, #11 Juan Mejias, and #21 Nathan Maestre led the team with 2 free passes each. #6 Lopez Torres led the team with stolen bases with 3, and the team had 5 stolen in the game. There were no errors committed with #4 Melendez having the most chances in the field with 6.
#9 Derek Arocha opened the game for the Bobcats, allowing 7 hits and 5 runs over 4 innings, striking out 4 and walking 3.

Game 2

The Bobcats got some revenge as they easily dispatched the Bulldogs 10-2.
The Bobcats trailed in this game until the 5th inning, when #8 Steven Rodriguez grounded out resulting in 2 runs scoring, tying the game at 2 all. The Bobcats then took the lead in the top of the 6th scoring 5 runs on 4 hits to take a 7-2 lead, the momentum shift came from #8 Rodriguez after a 6-pitch at bat that drove in 2.
The Bobcats collected 10 hits in the game, #23 Denny Felix, #4 Diego Melendez, and #12 Alan Navarro each collected 2 hits, tied to lead the team. #8 Rodriguez, the number 8 hitter lead the way with 3 runs, finishing 1-4 on the day. #26 Gavin Whitehurst would lead the team with 2 stolen bases.
#2 Santiago Montez earned the win giving up 3 hits and 2 runs, one earned over 5 innings, striking out 3 and walking 3. #10 Danny Dietrich threw 2 innings of 0 run ball in relief giving up 0 hits, striking out 2 and walking 2.

Game 3

The Bobcats gave up 6 scores in the 4th inning adding up to an 11-3 loss vs. the Bulldogs, losing the weekend series 1-2.
The Bobcats opened scoring in the 1st after #4 Diego Melendez grounded out, scoring 1 run. The Bulldogs would tie things up in the bottom of the 3rd until a double by #12 Allen Navarro would give the Bobcats the lead 2-1 in the top of the 4th.
It was then in the bottom of the 4th that the Bulldogs would score 6 runs and put things out of reach.
#26 Gavin Whitehurst, #6 Joshua Lopez Torres, #11 Juan Mejias, #4 Melendez, and #12 Navarro all collected 1 hit for the Bobcats. #4 Melendez, #11 Mejias, and #12 Navarro would tie for the lead as they each drove in 1 run to the Bobcats.
#45 Calub Gryckiewicz took the loss for the Bobcats lasting 3 and 2/3 innings, allowing 7 runs, 1 earned on 5 hits while striking out 3 and walking 0.
