The Bryant & Stratton Bobcats finished the regular season as the 2nd seed (East), the highest in program history entering the Conference Tournament with high hopes. (Double Elimination)
The Bobcats started the playoffs against an unfamiliar opponent in the Cleveland Yetis (West) and early in the matchup it looked as though the Bobcats would walk into the 2nd round unfazed being that they were up 8-1 having just everything flowing on offense after 3 innings of play. After the 4th inning of no scoring on either side, the momentum would shift as the Yetis would score in every inning and score a shocking 15 unanswered runs leading to the end of the game resulting in a loss for the Bobcats 8-16, moving the Bobcats into the losers bracket of the tournament.
Facing elimination, the Bobcats would battle against the Pitt Bulldogs whom they had defeated in the regular season series (4-1). This would be a back and fourth game until the bottom of the 7th inning with the Bobcats up 7-6 would score 7 runs to put things away via run rule and win to stay alive 14-6. Up next, the Bobcats would face the th Brunswick Dolphins who enterted the tournament as the 1 seed and boy was this a joy to watch. This matchup went to the wire as the teams were tied at 8 a piece entering the 7th inning, in the end it was Brunswick that would score 2 runs in the bottom of the 8th which would be the only scores to end the game eliminating the Bobcats.
Although a loss to end the year is tough, this team had many accomplishments and they will go down as the best Baseball team to date. The Bobcats season ends with the most wins in program history in a season at 30, they set the records for most consecutive wins at 9, the highest win percentage in a season, the best home record and best away record (first + .500 road win %) and highest finish in earning the 2nd seed in the conference tournament.
