(12) BSC MEN'S BOBCATS - 70 DEFEAT PITT CC BULLDOGS - 63
The #12 ranked, 9-1 Bobcats, fresh off of yesterday's big conference win over #15 ranked Patrick Henry, faced another conference foe in the undefeated 8-0 Pitt CC Bulldogs.
The game started off with both teams trading baskets. Pitt got the better of the first few exchanges and took an 11-7 lead in the first 5 minutes of the game. Greg Heckstall tied the game up with a 3-pointer at 12 all with 13 and a half minutes remaining in the first half. The game remained tied at 17 all over the next four and a half minutes. The Bobcats went on an 8-0 run and Pitt was forced to call a timeout with the Bobcats leading 25-17. The lead was stretched to 15 with two minutes remaining in the first half. The halftime score was 35-22 in favor of the Bobcats.
During the first few minutes of the second half Pitt was able to cut the Bobcats lead down to single digits at 39-30. With 11 minutes to go in the half the game was still close at 48-40 with Pitt not going away. The lead was cut down to five with six minutes remaining in the game with the Bobcats hanging on to the lead. With one minute remaining in the contest the Bobcats led 63-60. Greg Heckstall hit a 3-pointer with four seconds remaining on the shot clock and 12 seconds left in the game to put the Bobcats up 68-63 and then got the rebound off of the Pitt miss and hit the free throws to seal the game. The final score was 70-63 in favor of the Bobcats.
Greg Heckstall led the team this game in points and rebounds by scoring his career high with 21 points while also grabbing 8 rebounds. Jaleel Ferguson added in 11 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Romello Anderson scored 10 points.
Coach Graves and his Men's Bobcats are now 10-1 in overall play.
