Bobcats Fall to the Trojans on the Road 75-76
December 12, 2021- The Bobcats returned to action Sunday night against Fayetteville Tech. The Bobcats were 9-2 in career games against the Trojans with most coming down to the last few moments of the game.
After a long layoff, the Bobcats were anxious to get back on the court and compete again and they did just that on the road against a tough Fayetteville Tech team. Both teams went back and forth in the first half with no team able to create any real separation. The Bobcats were able to carry a four-point lead into halftime.
The second half started just as the first half with both teams exchanging baskets. Towards the middle part of the second half the Bobcats were able to stretch out the lead to double digits and maintain that lead until the Trojans made a run late in the game. In the closing moments each team traded baskets and the lead with a crucial basket coming in the closing seconds of the game by Fayetteville which gave them a 1 point lead with 2 seconds remaining. A last second ¾ court shot by the Bobcats was no good and they fell to the Trojans 75-76.
The Bobcats were led in scoring by Freshman Kenari Jones who came off the bench and gave the Bobcats a great spark with 23 points. Jefferson Youngblood finished with a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds while also blocking 6 shots in his first start of the year.
