Bobcats Open Season 1-1 at Dundalk Mixer

Baltimore, MD- The Bobcats opened up their 2021-22 campaign on the road in Baltimore this past weekend splitting the matches to go 1-1 at the CCBC-Dundalk Mixer. In their opening game the Bobcats matched up against the CCBC-Catonsville Cardinals who were also the host team. The Bobcats fell behind early and could not get it going offensively in the first half. They trailed 27-44 at the half, in the second half the Bobcats fought hard to get back in the game and cut it to single digits multiple times. In the end the Bobcats fell to the Cardinals 64-75. Sophomore Jalen Jordan led the Bobcats in scoring with 14, followed by freshman Alijah England with 13. Alijah also was the games leader in rebounds with 9.

In the second matchup of the weekend the Bobcats faced off against the College of Southern MD Hawks. The Bobcats took an early lead against the Hawks, led by a strong defensive performance by freshman NaQuan Lyons who had 5 blocks in the first half. At intermission, the Bobcats led 47-37 and were able to maintain a lead throughout the rest of the game, stretching it to 15 in the final to take home the victory 97-82. The Bobcats were led by freshman NaQuan Lyons who finished with 28 points, 5 Bobcats scored in double digits including freshman Theon Esseboom who recorded the first double-double on the team with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

On Saturday November 13th, at 3:00PM the Bobcats host conference foe Guilford Tech at Atlantic Shores Christian School. The Titans are also currently 1-1 on the season.
