BSC Track & Field Finished with Eight Qualifiers this Weekend at GMU
FAIRFAX, VA. – Bryant & Stratton Men's and Women's Track & Field teams traveled north to compete in the Father Diamond Invitational this past Saturday at the George Mason Field House.
The day began at 11 a.m. with the women's long jump. The running events started at noon, with the men's 60-meter dash. For the full schedule of events, click here (DOCX). The field featured eight schools, including Norfolk State, Howard, Bowie State, Virginia Union, Virginia State, Coppin State, Holy Cross and Bryant & Stratton College.
BSC's Sophomore, Ezekiel Jones, qualified by finishing first in the 200 Meter (21.95), second Norfolk State, Kai Cole (22.07) and third Norfolk State, Keith Brown (22.16).
On the Women's side, coming out strong, had four qualifiers. Starting off with the Women's 4x800, Bahiyyah Barnes, Kaelyn Woodrum, Precious Swinton and Selena Wilson finished second in 10.07.90. Howard University (Wilson, Benson, McDonald and White) coming in first at 9.32.93 and George Mason (Jennings, Anderson, Moore and Nery) finishing third at 10.22.45.
Freshman Shenequa Battle qualifying in the Women's 60 Meter prelims behind our very own BSC freshman, Tenae Minor and BSC freshman Jada Venters.
In the Women's Long Jump, BSC's Elizabeth Taylor qualified with a distance of 5.57m. George Mason's junior Kiana Stallworth, finished first with a distance of 5.67m. Howard University's sophomore Ja'Tae Joyner, jumped 5.52m putting her third in the high jump.
Lastly, finishing the day, freshman hurdler Tania Dunbar, finished third (9.00) to qualify behind senior Onuoha from Howard Univeristy (8.77) and Davina Lane, junior from George Mason (8.85).
