Arredondos 2 Homeruns Launched the Bobcats to a Victory in Their Home Opener 7-1
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA - Bryant & Stratton College Women’s Softball coming off two wins against Elizabeth City State yesterday, kept the bats fired up today against Stratford University at Princess Anne High School.
In the first inning, Nadine Arredondo homered on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs to put the Bobcats on the board 2-0. Bobcats struck again in the bottom of the third, Natalie Joyce led off with a double to centerfield to set up the bases. Cristina Ocasio Gonzalez walked and Nadine Arredondo steped in the box and hit a bomb to left field for another homerun, increasing the lead 5-0.
Stratford University still scoreless through three innings, S Lewis singled on a line drive hit to centerfield. She advanced to third on two wild pitches, quickly scoring the Cardinals only run on a wild pitch in the top of the fourth 1-5. Leading the Cardinal’s offense, Briana Person and Brittany Lewis both went 2-4 at the plate.
BSC totaled ten hits in game one, Arredondo, Kaleigh Arnett, and Natalie Joyce each with multiple hits. Arredondo led the Bobcats with five RBIs. Joyce adds another win to the books on the mound for the Bobcats. Final 7-1
The Bobcats will return home tomorrow against Va. Union. Game times have been moved back to 1pm and 3pm.
