BSC Softball Opened Their Inaugural Season Sweeping Elizabeth City State 9-1 and 19-2

ELIZABETH, NC – Bryant & Stratton College Women’s Softball Team Inaugural Season went under way today with a double header against Elizabeth City State in North Carolina. 

The Lady Bobcats got things started early in game one, putting three runs on the board in the first inning, led by Natalie Joyce and Brylee Sutherland.  Solid defense, going errorless for the entire game held off the Vikings throughout game one.  Natalie Joyce, on the mound for the Bobcats, threw a no-hitter striking out three in five innings. 

Cheyan Brassuer on the mound for the Vikings, went three and a third innings, allowing nine runs on six hits and striking out nine. 

Natalie Joyce and Taelor McClenny had multiple hits game, going 2-3 and 2-2 respectively.  

GAME TWO - The bats stayed alive going into game two, Jenniffer Almonte, Danicely Hernandez, Natalie Joyce, Brylee Sutherland, and Samantha Patrick all contributed to a big hit inning in the fifth all with RBIs.

Almonte took the mound in game two, throwing a no-hitter until the bottom of the fifth inning.  Allowing two runs on three hits over five innings, striking out eight.  Leading the offense to another victory on the season, Nadine Arredondo and Jenniffer Almonte going 2-3 at the plate. Final score 19-2

Cheyan Brassuer on the rubber for the Vikings in game two, striking out three and allowing eight runs on three hits.  In relief, Alyssa Griffin threw three and a third innings.

The Lady Bobcats season home opener tomorrow against Stratford University at 4pm and 6pm.
