Game One: Bryant & Stratton College 0, Southeastern CC 11
WHITEVILLE, NC – Bryant & Stratton College looking to snap their losing streak traveled to Whiteville, NC for a conference doubleheader against Southeastern CC Friday.
Southeastern CC, patient at the plate, took two walks to put two runners in scoring position, in the bottom of the first. On a caught steal attempt by N Bullard at second base, allowed H Sarvis to score from third base, to put them on the board early in the first 1-0. Southeastern CC's unstoppable offense totaled seven hits and eleven runs and did not give up the lead in game one.
Kailey Paul, in the circle for Southeastern, allowed zero runs and one hit, striking out four through run-rule five innings.
Natalie Joyce, earned BSC's only hit of the day, with a line drive to centerfield early in the first inning. Morgan Foy, coming off the IR, allowed eleven runs on seven hits in four innings.
Game Two: Bryant & Stratton College 2, Southeastern CC 14
The Bobcats scoreless in the first, fell behind early as Southeastern CC's offense scored five runs to lead off the inning. H Sarvis singled on a line drive to left field. H Sarvis advancing to second with a walk by N Bullard. Runners in scoring position, M Smith’s RBI singled to left field, advancing N Bullard. On a wild pitch, both runners advanced to third and second. K Patrick hit a hard grounder to left field, scoring N Bullard and M Smith. Continuing the offensive drive, M Benton homered to centerfield scoring two more runs 5-0.
Lauren Smith, victorious on the mound, allowed six hits and two runs over four innings, striking out three.
BSC struggled to stop Southeastern’s offense, allowing eleven hits and fourteen runs. Natalie Joyce took the loss for the Bobcats in four innings. Jenniffer Almonte led the Bobcats offense, going 2-3 at the plate, with a homerun in the top of the third.
To lead Southeastern’s offense, H Sarvis, K Patrick, M Benton, and M Smith contributed multiple hits on the day. K Patrick and M Benton totaled seven RBIs.
The Bobcats travel to Florence, SC tomorrow as they face Florence-Darlington for a doubleheader starting at 11am.
