Bobcats Dominate Offensive-Fueled Series to Sweep Brunswick CC
The Bryant & Stratton College Bobcats showcased relentless offense and clutch performances across a four-game series sweep of Brunswick CC, combining for 62 runs on 64 hits in a high-octane weekend. Powered by standout efforts from Aurora Kennedy, Tanisha Halvorson, and Maleia Truelove, the Bobcats overcame multiple deficits and late-inning drama to secure wins of 14-13, 20-12, 15-13, and 13-11. With timely hitting, aggressive baserunning, and key relief pitching, Bryant & Stratton proved unshakable in a series defined by explosive bats and momentum swings.
Aurora Kennedy's four-hit day powered the Bryant & Stratton College Bobcats to a thrilling 14-13 victory over the Brunswick CC Dolphins in yet another high-scoring showdown. The Bobcats exploded early, taking a 3-0 lead in the first inning behind an RBI single from Tanisha Halvorson and a two-run homer from Maleia Truelove. Brunswick responded in the bottom of the second with a home run and an RBI double to tie the game at 3-3. Bryant & Stratton surged ahead in the third, scoring five runs on a string of singles by Halvorson, Berry Rosychuk, Truelove, and Anaya Jones to go up 8-3. The Dolphins chipped away and took a 10-9 lead in the fifth after a five-run frame fueled by three hits. In the sixth, the Bobcats reclaimed the lead on Halvorson's RBI single and a Brunswick error that allowed another run to score, making it 11-10. The Dolphins tied the game once more in the bottom of the seventh following a Bobcats fielding error. The game was ultimately decided in the ninth inning when Kennedy launched a go-ahead home run to center field, giving Bryant & Stratton a 14-12 lead. Brunswick managed one final run in the bottom of the ninth but came up short, as the Bobcats held on for the win. Kennedy went 4-for-5 with a homer, double, and two singles, while Truelove provided a spark in the middle of the lineup, going 3-for-5 with three RBIs. Halvorson, Jones, and Vivia Ma also had multi-hit games, with Halvorson swiping three of the Bobcats' five stolen bases. Hilary Stevenson earned the win in relief, tossing six innings and allowing six hits and six runs (three earned) while striking out six and walking five. Sophia Elderbaum and Jada Kezema also saw action out of the bullpen. Bryant & Stratton finished with 17 hits, while Brunswick collected 13 in a slugfest that came down to the final out.

The Bobcats got on the board in the top of the first inning after Tanisha Halvorson singled to center field, and Halvorson stole home, each scoring one run. Brunswick made the score 4-2 in the bottom of the first after a single scored one run, a homer to center field, scored two runs, and a solo home run to left field scored one run. The Dolphins added one run in the second on a double down the left field line, making the score 5-2. The Bobcats scored one run in the top of the third before Brunswick scored seven runs on seven hits in the bottom of the third inning taking a commanding 12-3 lead. Bryant & Stratton scored eight runs on three hits in the top of the fourth inning. Two errors scored two runs, Aurora Kennedy doubled, scoring three runs, and Berry Rosychuk homered to center field, scoring three runs, now trailing by just one, 12-11. The Bobcats jumped into the lead in the top of the fifth when an error scored one run, Halvorson doubled, scoring one run, and Maleia Truelove singled, scoring two runs, 15-12. The Bobcats added three more runs in the top of the seventh inning on two hits the highlight coming from a Kiara Selby homer to center field, scoring two runs.
Bryant & Stratton College Bobcats outlasted Brunswick CC Dolphins in a high-scoring affair on Saturday, pulling out a 13-11 win after eight innings of back-and-forth action. The Bobcats struck first in the second inning as Kallie McNeely and Madison Goughnour each drove in a run. Brunswick quickly answered in the bottom half with a three-run homer from Erin Howdershelt to take a 3-2 lead. Bryant & Stratton tied it up in the third, capitalizing on a Brunswick error, but the Dolphins regained a 4-3 advantage in the bottom half thanks to a sacrifice fly by Sydney Reynolds. The lead changed hands again in the fourth when Kiara Selby blasted a three-run home run to give the Bobcats a 6-4 edge. Brunswick responded in the fifth with a game-tying RBI single from Reynolds, making it 6-6. Bryant & Stratton surged ahead with a four-run sixth inning, highlighted by an RBI single from Aurora Kennedy, an RBI double from Tanisha Halvorson, and a two-run homer from Berry Rosychuk. Brunswick cut into the lead in the bottom of the sixth on a two-run homer by Ashley Creech, then tied the game 11-11 in the seventh with an RBI double from Eva Creech and an RBI single from Hannah Oakes. In the eighth, Ariellah Layton laid down a sacrifice bunt to break the tie, and an error later in the inning pushed the Bobcats' lead to 13-11. Brunswick was unable to rally in the bottom half. Jada Kezema earned the win for Bryant & Stratton, allowing six hits and six runs (three earned) over 4.1 innings. Hilary Stevenson appeared in relief. Creech took the loss for Brunswick, surrendering 12 runs (nine earned) on 15 hits over seven innings. The Bobcats tallied 16 hits, led by four-hit performances from Kennedy and Alyssa Legault. Selby drove in three runs, and Bryant & Stratton swiped six bases. Brunswick totaled 14 hits, with multiple-hit games from Creech, Reynolds, Zori Stout, and Kali Weaver. Reynolds and Howdershelt each drove in three runs, and the Dolphins turned two double plays in the game.
Up next the Bobcats will travel to Southeastern Community College-Whiteville to take on the Rams in a weekend series starting Friday, April 11 at 3 PM.
