BSC Women's Basketball Team Advance in the Region X Tournament Against Johnston CC 57-42
NORFOLK, VA – Bryant & Stratton Women’s Basketball Team competed in the first round Region X Tournament Monday night against Johnston CC at Maury High School.
Closing out the regular season on the road, on a three-game losing streak, the Bobcats regrouped for the playoffs. Hosting its first home playoff game in school history, the Bobcats took the floor with a strict game plan…get stops and finish. The atmosphere was intense, and the stakes were high for both teams. Each team exchanged baskets and stops throughout the first half, with the Bobcats leading by single digits at half time.
The third quarter remained close with both teams battling for a chance to play in the quarterfinals on Thursday evening. The Bobcats stepped it up in the fourth quarter and took a commanding lead and did not look back. This was a team effort with every player scoring for the Bobcats. Final score 57-42
Tyeasha Fagan led all scorers with twelve points and made some key stops and buckets to extend the lead. Sonia McIntyre returned to play, she sparked the Bobcat's momentum with her hustle and hard play. She had a team high eight rebounds and the hustle plays that don't show up in the stat sheets were hers!
“We are pleased with our first playoff win in school history and hope to continue our playoff run against Louisburg College on Thursday.” stated the Coaching staff.
The Bobcats advance to the next round, as they travel to Lenoir CC on Thursday, March 8th to play Louisburg CC. Game time at 6pm.
