Norfolk, VA - The Lady Bobcats hosted their first two games of the season this weekend. Saturday kicked off the weekend against the College of Southern Maryland. The Bobcats came out with a lot of energy in the first quarter and took a 26-8 lead. The Lady Bobcats finished the first half up 49-23. The second half, good as the first, the Bobcats came away with the win 94-45. Mariah Igus led the Bobcats with 24-points, 3 assist, and 5 steels. Joscelyne Meyers had 15-points and 5 assists, and Marlee Syer 17-points and 6-rebounds. Also, Shikira Perry added a double-double with 11-points and 10-assist.
On Sunday, the Lady Bobcats were back in action against Harcum Community College, from Philadelphia. The Bobcats came out playing aggressive to take a first quarter lead 17-12. The Lady Bobcats finished the first half up 33-28. At the end of the third quarter, the Bobcats were down 44-47 going into the fourth quarter. Harcum kept the lead until the last three minutes, when the Bobcats pulled ahead to finish the game 62-58, to take the win.
Mariah Igus played awesome in the fourth quarter and led to team with 21-points. Regan Wilson added 13-points and Marlee Syer had 9-points.
The Bobcats travel to Newport News Apprentice next Saturday for a 4:00pm game.
