Lady Bobcats Comeback! Win Streak now up to 7 Straight
As we go into the winter break the Lady Bobcats won a difficult matchup vs. Brunswick Community College Dolphins to improve to (8-1) and continue there stellar season. This game was extremely too close for comfort through three quarters battling against an opponent whose record coming in was (1-8) but eventually the defense was to much and the Bobcats took control. Through the first quarter the Lady Bobcats found themselves down two points, Joscelyne Meyers had 8pts in the quarter of the teams 12. Going into the half it was still a close matchup but this time the Lady Bobcats found themselves in a slightly bigger whole of five points which wasnt a case for concern until the beginning of the 3rd quarter saw a run by the Dolphins that had the Bobcats in there largest whole in what seems like forever as they were down 12 at one point. However, the Bobcats felt the pressure and responded. They stormed back into the game with the help of #4 Ashanti Broughton who was a monster on the glass as she has been all year with put back after put back bringing the game into fighting distance down three at the end of the 3rd quarter. Ashanti finished the contest with 11rebounds (6 offensive) which was a tremendious help to the Bobcats who didnt have their best shooting night but still managed to completely dominated the 4th quarter, holding Brunswick to just 6pts while they had there best scoring quarter with 17 pushing them past Brunswick for the win. Somthing to note moving forward, Ashanti Broughton averaging a double-double & is currently ranked 9th in rebounds, 6th in blocks, and the team is 3rd in blocks in country for DII, a testament to their outstanding defense.
