Bio

Coach Sinisa Momic is a graduate of the University of Kinesiology in Zagreb, Croatia and has expereince at all levels of the volleyball arena, from international, Division I Collegiate, high-school, and club. Originally from Croatia, Coach Sinisa played as a professional beach and indoor player in Zagreb, Croatia. Starting as a professional indoor player at the age of 16, he accumulated four national championships. He also was a Croatian beach champion in 1994, continuing to play on the Croatian and European beach tours until 201. Coach Sinisa later became the assistant coach for the Mladost Volleyball Clun and the Croatian Junior National Team, again earning a national championship in 202 as a coach.

Making his way to the U.S. he served as the Assistant Coach for the indoor volleyball program at Tulane University. Later he advanced to become the Head Coach of the indoor program and started the sand program, becoming the first Director of indoor and sand volleyball for Tulane University.

After coaching a the collegiate level, he co-founded the "Next Step Volleyball Academy" where he also served as the Lead Instructor for indoor and sand. While running his academy he coached Varsity and Junior Varsity at the Academy of the Sacred Heart High School in New Orleans, LA, where he led them to the State Championship in 2020.

Along with all his coaching he compiled many recognitions to include:

  • Conference USA Coach of the Year
  • Louisiana Division I Coach of the Year
  • Produced 8 Honorable Mention All Americans
  • Produced 5 Conference USA Freshman of the Year
  • Produced 2 Conference USA Players of the Year
  • Helped lead Tulane University to their First NCAA Tournament appearance in 2008
  • Led the team to their first back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearance in 2009
  • Named LHSAA Coach of the Year
