Four RBI Day for Scott Brings in Win for Baseball

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College baseball team moves to 3-25 overall, 3-18 in conference play after traveling to Bryant & Stratton College (VA) for a single, nine-inning game Wednesday afternoon.

 

Wednesday afternoon Landon Scott would not be denied at the plate when runners were on base, driving in four on two hits to lead Richard Bland past the Bobcats, 15-5. Richard Bland got things moving in the first inning, when Carter Jones grounded out, scoring one run. Richard Bland tallied five runs in the third inning. Matt Stevenson, Ashur Caraher, and Jamari Pooler powered the big inning with rbis. Richard Bland launched four home runs on the day. Nick Guerra went yard in the fourth inning. Scott went for the long ball in the fourth and ninth innings. Stevenson had a long ball in the third inning. Andrew Bottari pitched Richard Bland to victory. Bottari surrendered two runs on three hits over four and a third innings, striking out three. A number of pitchers entered the game as relief, with Ben Adams, Roman Borders, Tucker Webb, and Connor Woodel all securing outs and ultimately the victory.

 

The Richard Bland College baseball team next hosts Southeastern Community College-Whiteville on Friday, April 7th in a single, nine-inning game at Dinwiddie Sports Complex. Games two and three of the series will take place on Saturday at 12pm and 3pm.
