Lions top Bobcats 87-80

The Lions headed into this contest at 1-1 after hosting the annual CCBC Dundalk Mixer to kick-off the season the first weekend of November. Day one of the Mixer, the Lions dominated Johnston Community College 86-59. Sunday was a tougher contest against the Pitt Community College Bulldogs in which they lost 92-87. The Bobcats had a tougher time at the Mixer losing both games, 76-71 to Cecil College and 90-82 CCBC Catonsville. Bryant and Stratton played Guilford Technical Community College on Saturday, November 9th and won 87-79.
 
Tipping off at 6:00 pm on Sunday, November 10th the Lions took a couple possessions to find their feet but tied the game at 6-6 before taking a 13-6 lead off of a 10-0 run. The Lions lead ballooned to 10, 20-10 at the 13 minute mark. The Bobcats responded and brought the game back within one, 25-24 with 8:38 remaining in the first half.

Nas Brockington orchestrated the pick and roll with Alex Obase for an easy lay up. The next possession Cam Albury recorded a steal and took the ball coast to coast. The Bobcats came down and missed a layup, Hussain Williams recorded the rebound, to Albury, to CJ Scott who went for the layup but was fouled. Scott made both and the Lions 6-0 run catapulted them to a 31-24 lead. The Lions lead stayed around 6 points for the rest of the half before finishing 45-39.

Bryant and Stratton came out of halftime firing, outscoring the Lions 16-7 taking a one point lead, 55-54. The game would get tied up at 60-60 but the Lions would go on an 8-0 run to reestablish their lead and ride off into the night winning 87-80.
 
Hussain Williams recorded his first double-double of the season with 36 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals.

Nas Brockington led the Lions with 5 assists off the bench while grabbing 10 points.

CJ Scott had a healthy 12 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists while 6/6 from the charity stripe.
 
The Lions next game will be on Thursday November 14th AT Harrisburg Area Community College with Tipoff scheduled for 7:00pm.
