VB: Eagles Humbled at CVCC X-travaganza

VB: Eagles Humbled at CVCC X-travaganza

It wasn't the way Wake Tech wanted to drive towards the end of September.  After flying high entering the month, the Eagles have dropped to .500 for the year with a 6-6 overall record.

All their losses have come during the last three weeks and it's left Wake Tech looking for solid footing after going 1-2 at Catawba Valley's annual X-travaganza in Hickory, NC.

The Eagles opened with a 0-3 loss to Catawba Valley.  Wake Tech had several strong runs during the contest, but couldn't match up with the Red Hawks.

A bright spot came when Wake Tech claimed victory over Bryant & Stratton College by a score of 3-1.  The Eagles registered 37 kills on 107 total attacks in the four-set match.

While hoping to build momentum after the win against Bryant & Stratton, Wake Tech couldn't hold up their end of the bargain- dropping a four-set match to USC Lancaster by a final score of 1-3.

What's Next?

There are three matches remaining for the month of September and two out of the three will be very challenging.

Wake Tech is on the road to meet up with Sandhills Community College on Wednesday, September 26th.

The Eagles face Pitt Community College at home on Thursday, September 27 at 6:00 PM.

September concludes with a road match at Lenoir Community College on Friday, September 28th.
