Bobcats Finish Opening Weekend 1-2

1/28/23 The Bryant & Stratton Bobcats took the lead late in the game in an 8-7 victory over the Florence-Darlington Technical College Stingers on Saturday.

The game was tied at five with the Bobcatsbatting in the top of the ninth when Dominick Proctor doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs. The Bobcats earned the victory despite allowing the Stingers to score five runs in the second inning.

The Stingers opened up scoring in the second inning when they homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring four runs. In the top of the sixth inning, the Bobcats tied things up at five when Danny Martinez grounded out, scoring one run. Jody Luis otero pitched the Bobcats to victory and went five innings, allowing zero runs on four hits and striking out three. Jack Norris and Sebastian Pagan entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Pagan recorded the last out to earn the save for the Bobcats while the Stingers pitcher lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and four runs while striking out two and walking one. 

Darian Fumero started the game for the Bobcats and allowed five hits and five runs over three innings, striking out three. The Bobcats launched two home runs on the day, Devin Hicks had a dinger in the first inning, Carlos Negron went deep in the first inning and the Bobcats tallied 11 hits & Proctor and Hicks all managed multiple hits for the Bobcats while Hicks and Proctor each collected two hits to lead the Bobcats.

1/28/23 Saturday's second game against the Stingers was a heartbreaker for the Bobcats, as they lost the lead late in an 8-6 defeat.

The game was tied at five with the Stingers batting in the bottom of the fifth when the Bobcats collected seven hits and Stingers had 11 in the high-scoring affair. The Bobcats fired up the offense in the first inning, when Carlos Negron doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

Kevin Caceres toed the rubber for the Bobcats and lasted five innings, allowing nine hits and six runs while striking out five, Jay Leonard threw one inning in relief. The Bobcats launched two home runs on the day, Devin Hicks had a four bagger in the seventh inning and Negron went deep in the fourth inning and also led the Bobcats with two hits in three at bats on the day.

1/29/23 Bryant & Stratton Bobcats Bobcats had the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 7-1 loss to the Florence-Darlington Technical College Stingers on Sunday.

The Stingers scored on an error, a double and a single in the second inning. The Bobcats struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing the Stingers, giving up seven runs. The Stingers scored four runs in the fourth inning and surrendered zero runs on one hit over four innings, striking out three and walking zero. Daniel Dietrich Jr took the loss for the Bobcats and lasted four innings, allowing nine hits and seven runs while striking out two and walking zero. Carlos Miranda, Diego Ortiz, and Carlos Negron all had one hit to lead the Bobcats while the Stingers scattered ten hits in the game.
