Five Pitchers Combined to Produce a Shutout That Leads to a 17-0 Bobcats Win
The Bryant & Stratton Bobcats defeated the Virginia Peninsula Community College Gators 17-0 on Wednesday as five pitchers combined to throw a shutout.
#7 Henry Suira was the winning pitcher for Bryant & Stratton Bobcats Varsity. The hurler lasted three innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out three and walking zero. A number of pitchers entered the game as relief, with #27 Jack Norris, #35 Deven Shepard, #44 Edward Frye, and #17 Leonard all securing outs and ultimately the victory.
The Bobcats fired up the offense in the first inning when #13 Devin Hicks hit a solo homer.
#24 Carlos Miranda led the Bobcats to victory by driving in four runs, #24 Miranda went 3-for-4 at the plate & drove in runs on a single in the first and a home run in the second.
#17 Jay Leonard induced a fly out to finish off the game.
The Bobcats tallied four home runs on the day, #13 Hicks in the first inning, #43 Ryland Brown in the first inning, #24 Miranda in the second inning, & #22 Witt Scafidi in the fourth inning.
The Bobcats totaled 19 hits, #4 Juan Mejias, #54 Dinzey Felix, #21 Raphael Beltre, #22 Scafidi, #24 Miranda, & #13 Hicks all had multiple hits for for the squad, while #24 Miranda, #22 Scafidi, and #4 Mejias collected three hits each to lead the way.
There wasnt a single error in the field, #28 Allan Navarro had the most chances with six chances in the field.
