MEN'S BOBCATS ROUT WAKE TECH EAGLES 102-67
The Bobcats continue their hot start to 2015 by securing another victory yesterday, bringing their overall record to (14-4) and conference record to (7-2).
The Men's Bobcats squad faced Wake Tech for the second time this season. The previous meeting being a victory by the Bobcats on the Eagles home floor 75-60. The Bobcats got off to a great start in this game and led 11-5 at the 15 minute mark after an alley-oop dunk from Marquise Johnson to Jaleel Ferguson. The Bobcats were able to extend the lead to eight and led 16-8 with 13 minutes left in the first half. With just under 10 minutes left in the first half the Bobcats locked in defensively went on a run that allowed them to extend the lead to 27-8. At halftime the Bobcats led 41-22.
To start the second half the Bobcats went on a 10-0 run to bring the lead to 51-22 before a timeout was called with 16:44 left in the second half. The remainder of the game the bobcats maintained control and finished the game with a final score of 102-67. The bench came up big for the Bobcats in this game totaling 65 of their 102 total points.
The top scorer for the Bobcats was Cameron Sarutzki-Alston in this one, who had a career high 16 points. A'Kanni White finished with 15 points and 5 assists. Edward Gordon led the Bobcats in rebounds with 10 as the Bobcats, who were all over the glass in this one, were able to secure 56 boards in the contest.
The 18th ranked Bobcats take on Florida National University (USCAA D1 Basketball School) tomorrow at 12p noon in the Newport News Apprentice Schools' Martin Luther King Classic.
