DAY 2 PITT CLASSIC: MEN'S BOBCATS BEAT BELIEVE PREP 74-66
On this 2nd day of the Pitt Classic, the Men's Bobcats team got off to a fast start and got out to an early 9-5 lead in the first 5 minutes of action. They were able to extend the lead to double digits and take a 21-11 lead with 8 minutes to go in the half. Another great defensive performance allowed them to hold their opponent to 23 points and take a 40-23 lead into intermission.
Believe Prep started the second half quickly cutting into the Bobcat lead and the Bobcats found themselves only leading by 11 with 15 and a half minutes still remaining in the second half. Over the next 6 minutes the Bobcats were able to maintain a steady double digit lead and led 56-44. Believe Prep cut the lead to 7 with 6 minutes to go in the game. With 1:43 remaining in the game the Bobcats led by 4 points 68-64. Clutch free throws down the stretch of the game allowed the Bobcats to take the victory with the final score being 74-66.
The Bobcats were led by Romello Anderson who had 16 points on the day. Greg Heckstall had his 6th double-double of the season and finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Shyheim Draughan also finished with 10 rebounds.
