Newcomer's BSC Women's Track & Field Ranked #5 Nationally by the USTFCCCA
New Orleans, LA – The NJCAA Women's Indoor Track & Field National Rating Index, released Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), the top-5 national ranking schools: #1 New Mexico JC, #2 Iowa Central CC, #3 South Plains (Texas), #4 Barton (Kan.) CC and #5 Bryant & Stratton (Va.).
BSC debuts as #5, as our program is only its second year of existence since launching the program in 2018, under Head Coach Claude Toukene. BSC ranks amongst 4 other schools that have combined to win each and every national title indoors since 2009. On the men's side, the USTFCCCA announced BSC #16 on the national rating index Wednesday afternoon.
The Bobcats young 2020 team, made up of majority freshmen ladies, has dominated the nation's fastest 4×800 team. Impact runner, Tamia Arnold, local from Tallwood High School in Virginia Beach VA, who was named National Athlete of the Week on December 10, is the country's third-fastest in the 60 hurdles (8.65) by a JUCO athlete.

Since the opening meet of the 2019-2020 Indoor Season at the CNU Holiday Open, the Bobcats have totaled twelve qualifiers for nationals: Jones, Barnes (2), Woodrum, Swinton, Wilson, Battle, Taylor, Dunbar, Arnold (2) and Minor.
Next up, the Bobcats travel to Princess Anne, MD to compete in the Eastern Shore Multies & Combine Meet on January 31st.
