The Bobcats Prep for 2021 NJCAA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships
Newark, NJ – The Bobcats traveled north to New Jersey this weekend to compete in the Wolverine Last Chance Meet hosted by Essex Community College.
On the women’s side, Shenequa Battle placed first in the 100m finals (12.58). Bahiyyah Barnes and Tenae Minor placed first and third in the 400m finals (59.55 and 1.01.8). While in the 800m, Selena Wilson finished third (2.32.47). Tracey Idugboe (1.05.29), Tania Dunbar (1.06.11) and Kaelyn Woodrum (1.07.20) finished second, third and fourth, respectively. Dunbar also placed second in the long jump (5.81m).
Freshman, Jacob Nixon on the men’s side, finished second in the 100m finals (10.89). Caleb McGire (54.22), Jason Farrell (55.70), Dae’Shawn Griffin (59.95), Anthony Powell Jr. (1.01.09), DeAnte Bridges (1.01.67) and Jhalen Harris (1.03.94) placed in the 400m hurdles. Kevon Chapman placed fourth in the Discuss (42.61m) and first in the Hammer (39.29m).
The Bobcats head to 2021 NJCAA Div. I Outdoor Track and Field National Championships hosted by the Texans of South Plains College in Levelland, Texas on Tuesday, May 11th.
