The Bobcats Compete in the New Captains MULTI
Newport News, VA - The Bobcats of Bryant & Stratton College traveled to Newport News to compete in the New Captains Classic on Friday and Saturday afternoon at TowneBank Stadium. Schools in attendance were Virginia Union, ODU, Virginia Wesleyan, Regent University, Mary Baldwin and Salisbury.
On the women’s side, Sophomore, Tracy Idugboe, finishes seventh in the 800m finals with a 2:36.51 time and Asharee Thomas placed fourteenth, 3:11.63. Freshman, L’Tamra Weeks placed fourth in the Heptathlon (2532 pts).
On the men’s side, Freshman, Jason Ferrell, finishes first in the 200 hurdles (54.52). Caleb McGirt came in a close third (56.58). The Bobcats 4x400 relay team, Epps, Ferrell, McGirt and Bridges, placed first at a time of 3:25.62. Big day for Freshman McGirt, also placing fifth in the long jump (6.63m).
The Bobcats return Friday, April 15th and April 16th for the Trojan Relays hosted by the University of Mt. Olive.
