BSC Names Coach Genevieve Weaver New Head Softball Coach
Genevieve Weaver will Head the Softball Program here at Bryant & Stratton College, starting this 2018-2019 season. Coach Dennis Nixon promoted to Director of Softball Operations.
"Bryant & Stratton is doing big things and making all the right moves in building their athletic presence in this region. The national and local recruitment that is displayed in this first class of softball players absolutely shows how serious the college is about its commitment to the softball program. Not only that, but the depth of experience in the coaching staff is incredible." said Coach Weaver. "I couldn't be more excited to be a part of the team and continue to recruit, coach and develop dedicated and competitive players."
Weaver is a graduate of Granby High School in Norfolk, Virginia in the International Baccalaureate program, Weaver was a three-sport athlete throughout her high school athletic career. She was selected to the All-Eastern District First Team all four years and was named Eastern District Player of the Year her senior year. She also received the U.S. Army Reserve National Scholar Athlete Award.
Weaver played collegiate softball at Chowan College but enrolled at Virginia Tech to earn her B.S degree in Communications. She later received her Master's degree from Old Dominion University while continuing to coach at her alma mater. She has been the Head Softball Coach at Granby High School for the past several seasons.
