COACH NOTES: LADY BOBCATS BEAT CATAWBA VALLEY 60-48
Two weeks after the last game of the year, the Lady Bobcats would travel to conference opponent Catawba Valley for their first game of 2017.
The game would start with both teams exchanging baskets and defensive stops. Catawba would go on a small run and the Lady Bobs found themselves in early foul trouble and would need to look to the bench. Sophomore Bre'Shae Bell and freshmen Felise Keys and Tyeasha Fagan would spark a defensive run that would cut the lead to three going into half time.
The Lady Bobcats would keep the momentum taking an early lead in the third quarter, that was lead by freshman Shauntierra O'Guin. O'Guin would have her best game yet dominating in the post with 18 points and 10 rebounds. We were pleased with O'Guin's presence in the post and with the benches hard work in keeping us in the game. O'Guin lead us in scoring followed by Kiana Crevison-Artis with 10 points.
