COACH NOTES: LADY BOBCATS 94 DEFEATS GUILFORD TECH LADY TITANS 86
Down 2 players and back on the road the Lady Bobcats would have their hands full with #10 in the nation conference opponent Guilford Tech.
The Lady Titans jumped out to a quick lead scoring on their first 4 possessions. The Bobcats would adjust defensively and begin to make the game interesting only down three to end the quarter. Freshman Kiana Crevison-Artis would get her hot hand back scoring 17 points in the first half helping the Bobcats stay close only going into the half down 6.
The halftime speech, Defense and the Bobcats responded with 6 stops in the first 3 minutes of the 3rd quarter. The tone was set and the Lady Bobcats would not look back defensively resulting in a 1 point lead to begin the 4th. The momentum would shift offensively for the Bobcats as well with sophomore Danielle Brown starting the fourth quarter with a bucket and a steal. That lead to more stops and a sequence of 3 three point shots in a row. The Bobcats would finish on top with a 94-86 victory of the Titans.
We are very proud of our Bobcat sophomores for the leadership they showed on the court, and especially our bench. Those who came in and did the things that the stat sheet doesn't always show that helped us to win the game as a team. We will continue to work hard, get better and grow as a team.
The Lady Bobcats finished with 4 players in double digits. Sophmore Kayla Clifton would complete another double double with 25 points 10 rebounds. Kiana Crevison-Artis also added 25 points completing 6/7 from the 3 point line. Kyara Cooper added 20 points and Makahla Knox finished with 10 points. Shauntierra O'Guin lead the team in rebounding with 12.
