2019-2020 BSC's Basketball Pre-Season Outlook
Virginia Beach, VA – The 2019-2020 basketball season is underway for the Bobcats of Bryant & Stratton College. Men’s Basketball start off with a (3-2) conf. record heading into a conference match up against Wake Tech. CC on Saturday, Dec. 7th @ 3pm in Raleigh, NC. VIT hit the road on Saturday to take on Monroe CC in New York. While on the Women’s side, the Lady Bobcats (3-1) host Lenoir CC on Saturday, Dec 7th @ 4pm. Here is a sneak peek into the season...
VIT – “We are back for another season! We are excited to bring the same intensity, as we have in the past. We are expecting high levels of performance from a few returning players: Herman Tillman, Shannon Burrus, Khalil Jeffries, Trenton Ragin and Eryn Crosby... to name a few. Nine promising athletes have been added to our roster that will add to our quick, fast and gritty style of Basketball. We plan to represent Bryant & Stratton’s name with honor and with victories of course!” – Coach Chicot
Women’s Basketball – “Entering into our sixth season and coming off a lost in the championship game, definitely intensifies the hunger to get back to the championships. We have three key returners: Nia Hamiel, who will continue to take on the point guard role. Serenity Turnbull, who made the All-Tournament team as a freshman and lead rebounder. Thirdly Special Bridges, who is coming off a shoulder injury, but has made her way back in the starting line-up. All eight of our new players look to contribute to our championship run. In particular, last years red shirts include Brandi Stephens, 6'3 Guard/Forward transfer from Meara Carter; Freshmen Guard, Takeira Grant; and Freshman Guard, Reagan Wilson. This is a different style team for us, we are very young but we will take this 30-game season one game at a time. This group has worked hard so far and we expect them to continue working hard, getting better, and finishing off the job.” - Coach Jackson
Men’s Basketball – “Bobcats Coach Cliff Coleman and his staff look to build upon a strong finish to last season, which included an undefeated February (8-0) and an 11-game win streak before falling in the quarter finals to Guilford Tech. After losing five sophomores last year, which accounted for 60 points, 33 rebounds, and 130 minutes a game, we will focus on a young core of returners, freshmen and redshirts. Returning for the Bobcats, “Big Man” Jamari Roberts, Guard Tisheed Jones, Guard Darrius Tunnell and Guard Darius Kemp. Returning redshirts, Guard Babayel Dia and Forward Darius Huff also being looked upon to contribute this season. Coming into the 2019-20 season, the Bobcats are 80-51 against Region X opponents.” – Coach Verbal
