Virginia Beach, VA - The Lady Bobcats were back in action this Saturday for Sophomore Day against Catawba Valley Community College. The Bobcats started the game off slow and down in the first quarter. Catawba took a 14-point lead at the half. In the second half, the Bobcats came out playing an aggressive defense to cut the lead to single digits going into the fourth quarter. The Bobcats continued with their good defense and made some plays the last five minutes of the game to take the lead. They would go on to win 62-52.
Ashanti Broughton had 16-points and 12-rebounds. Chasity Selden led the way with 23-points, 6-rebounds and 5-assists.
On Monday, the Lady Bobcats traveled to Cape Fear for their third conference game in five days. Cape Fear took the lead in the first quarter and led at the half. The Bobcats ended the half up by 7-points. In the second half, the score stayed close the rest of the game. Cape Fear kept the lead through the third quarter, but the Bobcats would cut the lead to two with five minutes to play in the fourth quarter. However, they could not make any plays down the stretch and lost 85-78.
Chasity Selden scored 16-points with 6-assists. Latanya Berry led the team with 19-points, 8-rebounds and 4-blocks. While Reagan Wilson finished with 17-points and 5-rebounds.
The Lady Bobcats last regular season game is Wednesday at home against Salkehatchie, for their annual Breast Cancer Awareness “Pink Out” game.
