Hard Fought Team Win has the Lady Bobcats (7-1) and Surging
Congrats to the Lady Bobcats in there (68-66) victory over Louisburg College Hurricanes. After multiple games canceled due to illness of the team and opponents you probably didn't know what to fully make of this Lady Bobcats basketball team and how they would respond, know this; They are fighters. This team is firing on all cylinders while only having 6 active players on the roster at the moment and finding ways to win.
Coach Parker has these women competing at an incredibly high standard as there (7-1) record reflects just that. Last night they went into a tough away matchup storming out of the gate and had an early 9pt lead at the end of the first but saw the lead diminish as the Hurricanes fought back to tie the game going into half time. Close to the end of the 3rd quarter #2 Ahmiah Jordan fouled out and we saw the appearance of #23 Takeira Grant who is still slowly being worked back into the game atmosphere following an ACL injury last year and she did an amazing job. There was no room for mistakes at how tight this game was, the lead changed all throughout the 3rd & 4th quarter up until the last 3minutes of the game when we saw the hurricanes take a (61-56) lead which was there largest of the night. After a fast break layup by #4 Ashanti Broughton the game was within 3pts and your Lady Bobcats never faulted and stayed composed. It came down to the clutch factor and we saw just that type of performance from #5 Joscelyne Meyers scoring 8 straight of the teams final 10pts to close the game and solidify a hard fought, gritty, big, Team win. This game for the Lady Bobcats showed heart and resilience; there were two players with double doubles and a total of four players with double digit rebounds.
