16 and Counting... Lady Bobcats Handle Louisburg on the Road
The Bryant & Stratton Lady Bobcats (19-1) were on the road facing off against a good Louisburg Hurricanes (16-3) team with a lot on the line.
This passed weekend, the Hurricanes did a favor for the Bobcats by knocking off top seeded Cape Fear. Now it was time for the Bobcats to take on the challenge themselves. In what was thought to be a hard fought battle, was mostly controlled by the Bobcats whom took a 19pt lead into the half (36-18). The Bobcats controlled the entire game from the tip to the end, but with some last minute scoring by the hurricanes it would bring the final score closer still with the Bobcats on top, winning (71-57).
After the game we caught up with Head Coach Cornell Parker and he had this to say when asked "It seems that #5 Yvette Sandifer is finding her groove of late when the team needs a spark, posting season-highs in point totals the last 2 games. What would you contribute her recent success to & what is the teams focus/mentality as they are close to solidifying the top spot in the conference?"
Coach Parker - "Yvette has been a big part of our team success this year as she continues to play with confidence. She was a player I watched in high school that I thought a year or two with us she would be even better. Yvette is a really great defender and has a good IQ for the game."
