Newport News, VA - The Lady Bobcats Volleyball team open the 2021 season hosting Spartanburg Methodist and Catawba Valley CC, this weekend in Newport News.
The Lady Bobcats fell in two matches to Spartanburg Methodist (3-0 and 3-1). Game #1 on Friday, Rachael Humphrey led the Bobcats with 17 pts and 12 digs. Rainah Herdman contributed 6 pts and 16 digs. Spartanburg would later take all three sets (25-16, 25-22, and 25-14).
Day #2 on the weekend, they Bobcats fell to Spartanburg 3-1 (24-14, 25-9, 17-25 and 25-14). Rachael Humphrey and Rainah led the team with a combined 24 pts and 13 digs. To close out the weekend, the Bobcats took the court against the Red Hawks of Catawba Valley CC, where they would later sweep BSC 3-0 (25-6, 25-9 and 25-11).
Next up: The Lady Bobcats return to action on Friday, Jan 29th @ 11am vs. Sandhills CC, hosted by Spartanburg in South Carolina.
