Bobcats Suffer Heartbreaking Loss in Conference Semifinal Against Pitt
A Balanced Attack Leads the Bryant & Stratton Bobcats Past the Louisburg College Hurricanes, 78–70 in Round One of the Conference Tournament.
The Bobcats secured a strong round-one win over the Hurricanes, riding a well-balanced offensive effort and stingy team defense to a 78–70 final. The Bobcats jumped out early with a 43-point first half and maintained their lead down the stretch, showcasing unselfish ball movement and control on the boards to close things out.
Kahlil Oden led the scoring charge once again, dropping 19 points on 6-of-13 shooting while hitting three triples and adding 4 assists and 4 steals in a do-it-all performance. Kyjuan Oden was the engine on both ends of the floor, dishing out 9 assists and pulling down 7 rebounds to go with 8 points. Gamar Powers also delivered, going 6-for-9 from the field for 12 points while contributing across the stat sheet. Johntez Raspberry added 9 points and a team-high 8 rebounds, continuing his consistent inside presence.
As a team, the Bobcats totaled 18 assists on 32 made field goals and forced 14 steals, proving once again that when they're sharing the ball and turning defense into offense, they're tough to beat.
In Round Two of the Conference Tournament, the Bryant & Stratton Bobcats Fell Just Short in a High-Scoring Thriller Against the Pitt Community College Bulldogs.
In a heart-pounding matchup that came down to the wire, the Bobcats couldn't hold off a surging Bulldogs squad, falling 91-89 in a high-octane contest. The Bobcats started red-hot, exploding for 51 points in the first half while shooting over 47% from the field for the game. But Pitt clawed their way back, outscoring the Bobcats by 14 in the second half and capitalizing at the free-throw line to squeak out the narrow victory. Despite the tough loss, the Bobcats showed tremendous effort and offensive firepower in one of their most exciting games of the season.
Kahlil Oden was electric for Bryant & Stratton, pouring in 27 points while draining 7-of-12 shots from beyond the arc, keeping the Bobcats in the fight with timely buckets. Off the bench, Jalen Milt was a force on the glass and in the paint, notching 17 points and 9 rebounds in a gritty all-around performance. Travis Hamilton added 11 points on efficient 5-of-7 shooting, while Kyjuan Oden contributed across the board with 9 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds. Although the Bobcats came up just short, the balanced attack and fight shown in this one promise more strong performances to come.
With the loss, the Bobcats finish the season 20-10 overall, 12-6 in conference.
